Get ready, El Paso. It's time to make some noise for love and equality as Pride month arrives with a lineup of events.

From a lively parade to a local brewery creating a unique beer for the celebration, this month-long extravaganza promises a spirited experience for all.

El Paso Times' comprehensive guide is a ticket to a month-long celebration of events. Join the 18th annual Pride parade, experience Pride night at the El Paso Chihuahuas, and join the party during a bar crawl in Downtown El Paso.

Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming 2023 Pride Month, including dates and events in El Paso County. The guide will be updated throughout June.

Pride Month spans the month of June each year, this year beginning on Thursday, June 1 and ending on Friday, June 30.

Pride Month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York and celebrates the LGBTQ community and the fight for equal rights.

The Stonewall Uprising began on June 28, 1969, when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a prominent gay bar in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. The subsequent protests over the next six days are credited with a shift in LGBTQ activism in the U.S.

The 18th Annual El Paso Sun City Pride Parade will start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10, starting on Mills behind the El Paso City Hall, to Campbell, and then Montana to Houston Park, 900 Montana Ave., where it will end. After the parade, there will be a parade picnic with music, food, nonalcoholic beverages and drag performances.

As Pride Month begins, the city of El Paso will display "Love Letters" at San Jacinto Plaza. Throughout June, residents and visitors can pay tribute to LGBTQ Pride in Downtown El Paso.

"Pride Month is a special opportunity to recognize the proud El Pasoans that make up its LGBTQ community. Our community is made up of diverse individuals who make El Paso a unique and accepting destination, one that welcomes all visitors with open arms and an open heart," said Jose Garcia, President and CEO of Destination El Paso.

El Paso's contemporary drag scene is highlighted through photography and costumes of local performers in a pop-up exhibit at the El Paso Museum of History in recognition of Pride Month.

The exhibit, titled "Drag in Focus: A Close-Up of El Paso's Drag Scene," showcases drag as a meaningful art form while honoring diversity and expression in the Borderland, the museum stated.

The pop-up exhibit will be on display through July 8 at the El Paso Museum of History, 510 N. Santa Fe St. Information: www.epmuseumofhistory.org

El Paso Locomotive FC will celebrate Pride Night on Wednesday, June 14, at the soccer match against Las Vegas Lights FC.

The first 1,500 fans will receive a free fanny pack. Gates open at 6 p.m. and kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Southwest University Park in Downtown.

The beer was brewed in collaboration with Sun City Pride and 100% of the profits will be donated to the organization.

The beer will be an ultra crushable lager, landing at 4.20 ABV. The beer will be available June 3 on tap and canned at the brewery located at 1620 Resler Drive.
