Following a serious car accident, a Coral Springs resident, who had been driving with seven young children without restraints and an open bottle of beer, now faces 27 charges of child neglect and DUI-related offenses.

On May 21, the Coral Springs Police Department arrived at a car accident scene with reported injuries to young children near West Atlantic Boulevard and Coral Springs Drive.

Upon arrival, records show that officers encountered first responders needing police assistance due to the erratic behavior of one of the drivers, who, at the time, was allegedly the one at fault.

The driver, later identified as Miazoti Ann White, 38, of Coral Springs, was described as acting belligerent and cursing at the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire personnel.

Upon approaching White, CSPD observed her to be emotionally distraught, transitioning from cursing to uncontrollable crying.

As officers looked further into her vehicle and its surroundings, it was discovered that she had seven small children with her, all of whom were also distressed, and one child was bleeding from their forehead.

According to the CSPD incident report, it was discovered that there were no child safety seats or restraints in the car, despite there being seven young children between the ages of three and six.

The arrest report indicates that upon further investigation of the crash, it was revealed that White had crossed over a raised curbed median into oncoming traffic, resulting in a collision with another vehicle. The report does not indicate the status or condition of the other vehicle involved in the crash.

According to CSPD, the smell of alcohol on White's breath became increasingly apparent during their conversations with her, and she exhibited slurred speech and bloodshot watery eyes and displayed highly emotional and uncooperative behavior towards the first responders.

Officers at the scene reported the presence of an alcoholic beverage odor emanating from the defendant, and a glass "Corona" beer bottle was found in the center console of her vehicle.

Considering the totality of the circumstances, a Special Victims Unit Detective was called to the scene to investigate the Child Neglect aspect of the case. However, White became even more uncooperative during the investigation and refused to provide any information to the detective.

The arrest report shows that when officers attempted to escort White to a patrol car, she intentionally kicked multiple detectives and officers trying to restrain her and take her into custody.

White continued to display disrespectful and racially offensive behavior toward the officers, and despite being read the Implied Consent Warning, which outlines the legal requirement to provide a breath sample, White repeatedly yelled profanities and racial slurs, ultimately refusing to cooperate, according to the report.

It was later revealed White's Florida Driver's License was already suspended due to a previous DUI offense, making this her third subsequent offense. White also has a history of violating child restraint laws and traffic violations in Coral Springs, according to the report.

White was later transported to the Broward County Main Jail
